Love, And Do What You Like

Blessings to you, the readers of this page, in Jesus Christ our Lord. May He guide you and protect you always.

"Love, And Do What You Like"

This is a revelation to me, and now everything in the Bible makes sense to me. This is the essential moral precept for all human souls. Love God, as your Father and your Creator. Love your fellow man as you love yourself. Get the Holy Spirit within you. Then love, and do what you like. You will like to do only those things which are pleasing and acceptable to God.

I realize that I will now be parting company with all the legalists among my fellow Christians. And I am sincerely sorry about that. If any members of the Chapel list wish to cancel their subscriptions at this time, I will understand.

But I am on very firm Scriptural ground, on the very highest authority when I take this position.

                                          
             MATTHEW 22:35-40 (KJV)

                    Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a
                    question, tempting him, and saying,

                    Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
             37
                    Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God
                    with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with
                    all thy mind.
             38
                    This is the first and great commandment.
             39
                    And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy
                    neighbour as thyself.
             40
                    On these two commandments hang all the law and the
                    prophets.

This is the joy of total liberty in Christ. Love is the entire point of everything, love for God and love for our fellow man. All other things are subordinate to love. If we follow the Holy Spirit within us, which we have received according to our faith in Christ, He will not mislead us.

This teaching is not for everybody, only those who are able to receive it. As Jesus said many times in Scripture, "He who has ears to hear, let him hear."

But if the Holy Spirit is not yet firmly in control of your life, it is perhaps better that you remain a legalist, following the letter of every Biblical exhortation and command.
