For A Friend To Talk To

NOTE: When you read this prayer, try to imagine hearing my voice as I speak
it to you.  In this way, the prayer is reactivated, and it is the same
as if I were actually praying for you at that moment.
(Just like television prayers are reactivated when you watch 
them, although the videotape may have been shot years before.)

                       "For A Friend To Talk To"
               
               You have some problems brewing in your life,               
               And you have asked the Lord to give you help.
               You know that He is with you, and you trust Him,
               But now you feel you also need a friend:
               A human friend to come and be beside you,
               To talk with you and share your company.
               For sometimes you are lonely in the twilight,
               You sometimes feel nobody really cares.
                 *               *              *
               I pray the Lord will always dwell within you;
               That He will always listen to your cries.
               I pray His faithful love will always warm you;
               That you can always trust Him for your needs.
               But also now I pray that He will bring you
               A special friend to spend some time with you,
               A friend to listen as you tell your problems,
               A friend to give you comfort and advice.
               And when your friend arrives, and you are talking,
               I pray you find the Lord is in her heart.
               In Jesus' name I pray for you, Amen.
