To the Lord, For His Speedy Return

NOTE: When you read this prayer, try to imagine hearing my voice as I speak
it to you.  In this way, the prayer is reactivated, and it is the same
as if I were actually praying for you at that moment.
(Just like television prayers are reactivated when you watch 
them, although the videotape may have been shot years before.)

   NOTE: This prayer, today, is written as a collective prayer, for all of us
      to pray whenever we are moved to do so. Yesterday on Family Radio, 
      I heard a missionary in Peru express his belief that the Lord
      restrains Himself from acting in human affairs *unless* we pray
      for Him to act. If true, this is a stunning concept, and it would
      suggest that we should pray more actively for the Lord to intervene
      in human affairs, confident that the Holy Spirit will lead us 
      to pray in a manner consistent with His will.

              
               "To the Lord, For His Speedy Return"

                O Lord, we pray that you will soon return,
                To lead us in the flesh, as once before,
                But this time to be recognized as King,
                And take your rightful place above the world.
                Too long the world has stumbled through the dark,
                Controlled by those who think you don't exist,
                Or if you did, that you were just a man,
                And not our rightful king, the Son of God.
                Too long the hateful Satan has run free,
                With all his little stooges by his side,
                Corrupting everything within his path,
                And trying to destroy us with his lies.
                
                And now the year two thousand does approach,
                Your Gospel has been preached throughout the world,
                And those who need to hear have had their chance.
                The time for your return is now arrived!
                Please hear us as we pray for your return;
                Prepare us to receive you in the flesh.
                Please set a cross, emblazoned in the sky,
                So all will recognize that it is you.
                Then enter, now triumphant, as our King!
                
                In Jesus' holy name we pray, Amen.
